The Importance Of Leadership Development Early In Your Career
Show Notes

Recent surveys show that young leaders are getting into their first supervisory or management role between the ages of 26 and 30. However, the average age of employees that are starting in leadership development is 42 years of age. That is a gap of more than a decade! This points to the fact that organizations are waiting too long to develop leadership talent, and people are not focusing in on their own development as leaders. Not only are they waiting too long, organizations often reserve the most powerful leadership development experiences for senior executives and those in the upper levels of middle management.  And we wonder why emerging leaders are over worked, over stressed, hitting barriers early in their careers, and leadership turnover is at an all time high.
Chris Jensen has over 35 years experience in high-level leadership roles including special forces, military, government, private sector, and has developed multiple companies. He is currently working with several emerging leaders in business and leadership development. Rich and Chris talk about the importance of leadership development early in a person's career on this episode of Mainline Executive Caoching ACT.
