Culture, good or bad, is the product of the values and behaviors of the organization's leaders. Simply put, if you want to understand the strengths, or weaknesses of the company culture, look no further than the senior leadership team. Competent leadership results in high levels of trust, engagement, and productivity. Incompetent leadership results in anxious, alienated workers who practice counterproductive work behaviors and spread toxicity throughout the firm. Simply put, culture will expose the competency or incompetency of the senior leadership team.
