HR Does Not Mean Home Room

Rich Baron and Maikel Bailey Episode 238

Thank you for all of your support. Please let us know what you think about our podcast and what topic you may want to hear from us. Leaders, Lead Well!

Why is it that in so many organizations, HR is viewed as the villians and not employee advocates? We all have the tendency to divide up the world into two groups: Us and Them. It's easy to make HR people the enemy; however, is it because perhaps in some instances, they are? Is it possible for a few bad apples in the HR department to give the whole HR profession a bad name? Or is it that too many executives lead HR, if they lead it at all, through fear rather than trust. They focus on keeping payroll costs down and keeping "employee issues" to a minimum, instead of setting ambitious organizational cultural goals and then hiring brilliant people to help achieve them -- and letting those brilliant people do their jobs!
Over the next few episodes, we are exploring the reasons why HR can be viewed not only as the villians of the organization, but also as leaders and employee advocates on Mainline Executive Coaching ACT.
