Mainline Executive Coaching ACT
Steam Locomotives were some of the most powerful machines ever built. They represent vision, ingenuity, collaboration, and extraordinary human achievement. However, to get to the next destination, they had to be directed to the mainline. This required someone directing the train through a series of switches to reach the right destination. Just like these amazing machines, leaders and organizations alike need the right direction to reach their destinations. Intelligent Leadership is the key to success and cultural transformation. With over 50 years of combined success in executive leadership, cultural transformation, and executive and emerging leader development, Rich Baron and Maikel Bailey bring to light some of the most pressing issues facing leaders and organizations today. Hand-picked and certified by the world’s top leadership development authority, John Mattone, we will partner with you to improve your leadership ability and cultural transformation in ways you never thought possible. The Fine Art of Quitting a Bad Boss
Despite companies spending $15 billion annually on managerial and leadership development, bad bosses remain prevalent in the workforce. Staying in a bad work situation with a toxic boss may seem more secure than leaving, it comes with many risks. A study of 3,122 employees found that those who work for toxic bosses were 60% more likely to suffer a heart attack, stroke, or other life-threatening cardiac condition. Other studies in American workplaces show that people with toxic bosses are more susceptible to chronic stress, depression, and anxiety, all of which increase the risk of a lowered immune system, colds, strokes, and even heart attacks. In many instances, the results show that it may take up to 22 months to recover physically and emotionally from a toxic boss. While the idea of quitting may be intimidating, staying in a job with a toxic boss can be even more frightening.
Rich and Maikel discuss the issues surrounding quitting bad bosses in this episode of Mainline Executive Coaching ACT.
